2020 Solidago
“Solidago” is the Italian term for goldenrod, an herb that was once plentiful near our vineyard. This Northern Italian-style blend is composed of 55% Sangiovese from Paso Robles, 22.5% Merlot from our Estate LuiseñoVineyard, and 22.5% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Temecula Valley.
The upfront fruit from the Temecula Cabernet and the complex nature of the Merlot from our Estate Luiseño Vineyard demands a bright, acidic Sangiovese blend, creating this Super Tuscan-style wine. Solidago exhibits hints of tart, red fruit that is characteristic of the Sangiovese base. Layers of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon round out the peppery finish making it a perfect accompaniment to acidic foods and tomato-based sauces.
